This conference, which will provide the latest information on asynchronous
learning programs, processes, packages, and protocols, is geared to both
experienced professionals and interested newcomers to online learning who hail
from a variety of work sectors, including higher education, continuing
education, business, government, health care, professional associations, and
nonprofit organizations. It is especially designed to meet the needs of:

The Power of Online Learning: Improving Learning in a Networked
World" is the theme of the fourteenth Sloan-C International Conference on
Asynchronous Learning Networks (ALN). The conference takes place in Orlando,
Florida from 5 to 7 November, 2008. The call for papers is now open and the
conference committee strongly encourages the submission of proposals that
reflect the implications for the field of specific eLearning experience and
practices.

The keynote speaker is Terry Anderson, Director of the Canadian Institute
for Distance Education Research. He is also Professor and Canada Research Chair
in Distance Education at Athabasca University – Canada’s Open University. He
will speak about "Social Networking".
Last year's conference attracted over 1100 participants to more than 150
presentations, as well as exhibits, pre-conference workshops, keynote and
plenary addresses, and a variety of other special events.
