Subject Area: Math

Target Audience: All grade 1 to 6 Math coordinators and teachers. Due to the limited space in a computer lab (only 25), confirmation of attendance will only be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Trainer: Mona AbdelFattah Younes (Managing Editor of the Teachers Network)

Objectives:
At the end of the training program, the participants should be able to:

  1. explain the main concepts related to constructivism and collaborative learning
  2. analyze the potentials of various e-learning elements and tools
  3. evaluate e-learning tools, especially Web 2 tools, and their appropriateness for their specific context and subject area (Math)
  4. select the most effective e-learning tool for the specific objectives of a lesson, e.g. match between the lesson objectives and the available e-learning tools
  5. prepare their students for the use of more innovative e-learning tools
  6. design a lesson plan with an integrated e-learning component
  7. organize the learning cycle with interactive components by means of e-learning tools.
  8. propose assessment techniques for activities that have been computer or web-based.

  • Second: Integration of E-learning in Mathematics:
  • What is the difference between Learning 1.0 and Learning 2.0 ?
  • What are the factors that impact the development of Mathematics E-Content?
  • How to plan an interactive Math lesson using E-Learning tools?
  • How to design a Mathematics lesson plan with an integrated ICT component?
  • When to integrate e-learning within the learning cycle?
  • How to select the to the students skills and needs appropriate e-learning tool?
  • How to apply e-learning tools for more effective and constructive instructional design?
