Trainer: Early Years Team from the Education Institute and the Advisory Teachers working with the Early Years Project

Objectives:
The purpose of this conference is to :

1. Provide school leaders with revised, integrated Early Years Curriculum Framework for KG-Grade 2
2. Provide Planning Support for Professional Development for Early Years ( KG-2) teachers for 2009-2010
3. Train School Leaders to implement and facilitate the Seven Early Years Learning Modules for Teachers in 2009-2010
4. Report the Results of the Early Years Quality Assurance Evaluation Rubrics for 32 schools

Synopsis:
The Early Years Leadership Conference will offer school leaders, Early Years and subject coordinators specific information and training for implementing professional development for teachers (KG- Grade 2) in their schools in 2009-2010. The first and second day will provide training for implementation of the Integrated Curriculum model for KG- Grade 2, and illustrate connections to the Curriculum Standards and School PD Plans for 2009-2010. The third day is for training on six additional modules, (Language Development and Bilingualism, Assessment for Young Children, Positive Behavior Supports, Children with Additional Educational Support Needs, Play and Learning, and Parents as Partners).

Monday June 22, 2009 (to continue on June 23 and June 24)

Time: 8:30 am- 2:30 pm

Venue: First Conference day (Monday) at the "W" Hotel, the successive days at Al Huda School.
