FQAs about the Online Registration System

1.Were do I find information about PD activities offered by the SEC?
PD activities offered by the SEC are announced online on the Teachers Network. Please check the website (www.teachers.net.qa) periodically. The Updates appear under the title: NEW UPDATES: SEC Training Programs and Workshops for September - December on the Teachers Network front page.
Always look for the Flashing NEW icon. When clicking on the title you will see a list of all activities. Choose the one you are interested to send your teachers to, and you click on its title. All details related to that PD activity will be displayed.
Another way to get into the details of offered PD activities is to check the calendar: on the right bar of the webpage.

2.Were can I find the Online Registration Form?
The Online Registration Form was sent out to all PD Coordinators on October 29th, 2008 by email. The form is not online.

3.Am I the right person to use the Online Registration Form?
Online PD Coordinators, who have been delegated the task of being responsible for PD activities in their school are responsible for completing the Online registration form. There is only one person with this responsibility within the school.

4.Why is it that I can not open the Online Registration Form?
To be able to use the Online Registration Form, you must have Acrobat Reader 6 or above. If you do not have it, please install it immediately. You can open the form without having to enter the code, BUT you will not be able to send it out without having put it into the space next to Security code on the form itself.

5.How should the registration form be sent back to the PD Office?
After filling in all of the spaces, send the form back by pressing the SUBMIT EMAIL button.

6.What if I use an email service other than the "Outlook"?
To be able to send out the Online Registration Form by any service other than "Outlook", like hotmail, yahoo, msn…etc. you must have the email service open in the background of the form.

7.Why didn't I get a security code?
This might be due to one of the following reasons:

  • You are not the PD Coordinator in charge of booking places for the school’s teachers to attend PD activities. Security codes were sent ONLY to assigned PD Coordinators.
  • You have sent us a wrong email account. (Check with the PD Coordinator, who is following your PD plan, activities and events within the PD Office)
  • The email sent by the PD Office ( by Mr. Chris Marshall: c.marshall@sec.gov.qa) reached the Junk or Spam Box.
  • Your email's INBOX was full.

8.What if I didn't get a security code? Who should I contact?
Please contact the PD Officer within the PD Office who is in charge of your school's PD.

9.What if I forget my security code?

10.When should I begin registering using the Online Registration Form?
Please use the Online Registration Form to book any PD activity beginning after October 30. Do not re-register for any PD activity you have sent us a fax related to it before. This form is online to be used to book PD activities offered by the SEC.

11.What if I fax the PD Office to book a place in one of the offered PD activities?
Please do not do that. Registration has to be proceeded ONLINE ONLY. This is for the benefit of your teachers. As the online system will enable us to track of their PD.

12.How can I use the Online Registration System?

  • Save the received form on your PC, to have a blank copy to be used whenever you want to register for a PD activity.
  • Check the Teachers Network periodically to be informed about offered PD activities.
  • Open the page of the PD activity you want your teachers to attend.
  • Open also the Online Registration Form.
  • Paste / Copy the information of the PD activity and the attendees, as well as the required information about yourself within the form.
  • Do not forget to fill in the SECURITY CODE. The form woon't be sent out without it.
  • Click on PRINT on top of the page to save a document for yourself.
  • Click on SUBMIT EMAIL to send us the form.
  • Check in your SENT BOX that it has been sent successfully.
  • Wait for a confirmation email that would include the name of teachers selected to attend the activity. DO not send out your teachers without having received a confirmation email with the name of the teachers to go to the PD activity.

13.Is there a recommended order to list the name of teachers to attend the PD activity?
Yes, the teachers mostly in need of the offered PD activity should be on top of your list, e.g. the list has to be according to perceived priority.

14.How should the online registration form reach the PD Office? How do I send it back?
The Registration form should reach the office as soon as you submit it by pressing the SUBMIT EMAIL button.

15.What if I don't hear back from the PD Office team? Should I go straight forward sending out my teachers to the PD activities?
No, wait for a confirmation email from your PD Officer that includes the name/s of teachers to attend the activity. If you do not hear back from us, do not hesitate to contact your PD Officer via email or phone.

16.What if I still have problems dealing with the new system?
