Best Practices in Science Curriculum Standards Implementation (2)

The CfBT Training Pack:

The CfBT Training Pack is a very valuable tool of professional development. It contains a series of workshops that have been conducted during 2005 by a highly professional team, which provided training about the best practices to implement the curriculum standards of English, Science and Math. This Training Pack is so valuable that it is actually now considered to be a reference for a lot of trainers and advisory teachers while supporting teachers within the IS.

 The Teachers’ Network is happy to put this Training Pack online. Each series of workshops related to a specific subject is going to be put in the form of PDF folders.

Aims of the workshop:
The purpose of the three five-day science workshops is to consider the curriculum
standards for science and to discuss the implications for planning the curriculum,
teaching, learning and assessment.

This workshop aims to help subject leaders and teachers to:

The workshop aims to help subject leaders and teachers to:

  • increase their familiarity with the new curriculum standards for science;

  • consider further the implications of the standards for planning, teaching and assessment;

  • widen their knowledge of approaches to teaching and learning appropriate to the standards;

  • support their colleagues as they implement the standards.

 The Science CfBT Training Pack :

The Science Training Pack consists of three full workshops. Like the Math workshops, the science training workshops were divided into five full training days and into16 sessions, each having its separate objectives, activities and material.  The Material of each workshop is going to be displayed in the following way:

  • The Teacher's Pack

  • The Trainer's Notes

Workshop three is going to display a long list of very useful resources, which are related to suggested lesson plans.
