The Vision and Strategic Goals
Vision:
The Teachers’ Network strives to be an efficient, effective and constructive networking tool that interconnects teachers’ with each other, with the Supreme Council, and other administrative staff. It strives to provide all needed support, guidance and professional development for teachers on their effort to implement the Education for a new Era comprehensive reform policy.
Strategic goals:
- Improve the development of teachers’ capabilities and
competencies.
- Support the progressive transformation of schools within the
State of Qatar, their culture and practices.
- Ensure equity of access to educational resources
- Ensure that the goals of the reform are comprehensively defined,
described and clarified.
- Ensure connectivity of teachers with each other on all levels,
local, regional and international.
- Create a professional learning community that flourishes due to
experience exchange and the exposure to a variety of diverse and multiple
practices.
Principles:
- Practicality:
The network is not intended to be an academic portal, but a supportive
interactive network, focusing on the practical, contextual, authentic
implementation of strategies, theories and policies.
- Need-oriented:
The network is intended to focus on the real need of teachers, encounter these with applicable, realistic and innovative options.
- Interactivity:
Interactive tools are the core of the network, encouraging all kind of dialogue between educators around all sectors, schools and educational
institutions. The discourse used is not intended to be of a monologue
nature-dictating policies and rules - but rather an ongoing conversational
relation between educators.
Targeted audience:
All teachers of the State of Qatar with a specific focus on teachers working under the Supreme Council.
